Health & Energy Tips
Hey everyone š As we have just started 2026 I thought it would be a good idea to ask about the top energy and health tips we have all come across for our ADHD.
Personally, my chronic fatigue and insomnia is my cryptonite so I am on a bit of a quest to find ways to increase my energy and overall health - and I am sure I am not the only one!
I have come to learn that alcohol, high sugar drinks, gluten (and potentially dairy) are essential for me to avoid. That may sound obvious but I relied on each one of them to get me through the harder days! It has been much easier for me to find
what I should avoid over what I should prioritise - the sugar addiction doesnāt help either š
So please share your tips! You never know how many of us they may help š

Hi Dee, I personally find that if I have a strong focus on diet, exercise and meditation, with a solid structure/routine to my day it really helps me. In terms of diet I aim for high protein/low sugar, with a steady amount of carbs to maintain steady energy levels. I try to make sure Iāve got my quota of iron, zinc, magnesium, omega 3ās and certain amino acids within my diet as well. Thereās a bit of science behind the benefits of these for people with ADHD and I personally notice a big difference if Iām not able to get theseā¦I try to eat smaller amounts but regularly and usually have quick and easy alternatives to hand as well if I donāt have time or canāt be bothered to prepare meals (as well as supplements if Iām not getting what I need in my diet or if Iām skipping meals). Hydration for me is really important and I drink gallons of diluting juice a day. In terms of exercise I try to go to the gym 3 times a week (Mon/Wed/Fri) so that Iām getting a regular and steady neurotransmitter boost and do a lot of walking with the dog š¶. For meditation I just do this as and when I need to (usually a relaxation one to help calm me down if Iām getting overwhelmed). I try to slot the above into my daily routine, along with a few other things which again helps me. Getting enough sleepās really important as well and although I do have quite a good routine and take melatonin I still regularly struggle with this, although would probably struggle more if I didnāt do what I do š Everybodyās different though and people have busy lives so what works for one might not work for another for whatever reason, but the above certainly helps me š
