NeuroRoots Wildly Wired

Hello all. I have started my Peer led late diagnosed outdoor group again. See below for booking details. It is ran as Social Enterprise - once I get my head around registering at Companies House!

Eejits at the 'local business support' have not met my communication needs, so wading through best as possible.

This is in Coventry.

Love this and loving the name -

A question about terminology.

How do people feel about the term:

High functioning ADHD?

I think it is quite effective, to me it’s says “I have ADHD but I’m great at masking it so no one realises’

I’m in my 50’s and these terms mean different things to each generation,

I think some people today may feel as it classifies or grades ‘how ADHD’ someone is but to me it just means that someone has developed coping strategies to effectively navigate their world better,

I know many people take offence at suggesting conditions can vary in degrees, preferring to take the position that severity is irrelevant as the way a condition effects an individual is multifactored and therefore we mitigate impact by treating the person not the isolated condition, I personally think that some differentiation can be useful in understanding better, but that is just me

I’ve just read on LinkedIn that Capgemini who are the Respondents were leading lights as far as employers embracing and supporting neurodivergence. Plus a well known legal professional from Didlaw has posted a comment today that she doesn’t think ADHD is an impairment. Apparently “it’s a bit like menopause. “

Free regular online meetings to help connect with others and manage your ADHD.

As part of the added value proposition for our paid members we're thinking of hosting regular online meetings.

These would be hosted by Matt and would focus on a different topic each week allowing space to share your experiences, questions and your own tips.

To help us gauge is this would be of interest as part of the £4.99 monthly membership please reply with one of the following options below:

Yes. Every week.

Yes. Every other week.

Yes. Once a month.

I think this would be a great addition, monthly would be most practical for people I expect but I wouldn’t mind frequency as long as it was regular

Thanks to all who've joined for free.

Hi folks, its Matt here.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who've joined and I've opted for this free community first.

I completely understand that going for the paid option may seem like an expense that's hard to justify at the moment.

I just want to explain that whilst the app is new and still in development I completely understand that you may question why would you pay?

However the short term plans for the app are:

  • To make the community chat facilities better than WhatsApp could ever have been
